Dr. Akinwande and her staff are wonderful! Nicole at the front desk is fabulous! Whenever I have had an issue they have gotten me right in. Dr. Akinwande is incredibly professional and treats her patients with care. She has had to in detail discuss my issues and refer me out for a few procedures. I trust her completely. You could not ask for a better dental practice or dentist.

I can’t say enough great things about this dental office. I’ve always had really bad anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist, but Dr. Akinwande completely changed that for me. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and truly consultative. She takes the time to explain everything and makes sure you’re comfortable every step of the way. You can tell she really knows her craft. The staff is just as wonderful. The front desk receptionist is super of kind and very professional. I’ve even noticed how she treats other patients with the same warmth and patience. It really sets the tone for the entire office. From start to finish, every visit feels calm, caring, and professional. If you’ve been hesitant about seeing a dentist or have dental anxiety like me, I highly recommend this office. They genuinely care about their patients, and it shows.

The atmosphere is amazing. Friendly staff, knowledgeable professionals, and overall just a great staff. The receptionist is familiar with medical billing and the different health insurance processes. This is a modern dental office, I was very impressed with the 3D interactive x-rays, the musical playlist throughout the office, and the videos on the tv screens. If you are near the Waldorf area, I would most definitely would recommend Open Smiles Dental.

This is the most comprehensive initial oral exam I’ve ever had. While I pride myself on being 65 years of age with all my natural teeth - including wisdoms - I must admit to being a bit embarrassed at seeing the flaws reflected on the screens generated by the pictures the assistant/hygienist took during the almost 45-minute process (which I’m also embarrassed for complaining about). In the end, though, it proved worthwhile, as during the next 45 to 60 minutes, Dr. Kolade Akinwande took great care flossing, cleaning and polishing my teeth (the reason for this visit), and then explained what the pictures on the computer showed, as well as what I needed to do to maintain good dental hygiene. In the end, from Nicole, with whom I scheduled the appointment, to the assistant/hygienist (apologies for forgetting her name), to Dr. A., everyone at Open Smiles Dental, is absolutely awesome. I had an excellent experience here. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Just when I thought great customer service was a thing of the past, this place proved me wrong. I called in for an emergency appointment around 1:00 p.m. and was seen by 3:40 p.m.—truly impressive. The receptionist, Nicole, has such a warm, pleasant voice and an equally delightful personality. The dentist was friendly and kind, providing me with excellent dental care and even sharing some helpful and gratefully appreciated hair tips. Overall, it was a fantastic visit from start to finish. I’ll definitely be a new client.
