While I can’t say that I love going to the dentist, I can say that Dr. Sly and her team were amazing. Dr.Sly was thorough in explaining things to me where I was able to see things on the tv screen where she showed me my X-rays and also on a digital scanner where I was able to see in HD 3D, that was a 1st. The office is modern and I liked the feel of it. I’ll be back as I think I’ve found my new dental home.

Very nice office. Very clean and smells good. The staff is kind and very courteous! Dr.Sly did a very thorough examination. I wasn’t thrilled that I had a copay from my insurance not covering all of my xrays but once my exam was done I was happy I stayed for my visit.I had a 3D scan, full mouth of xays and a itero scan done. This office has all of the modern technology. I was even able to see my images in AI on the tv mounted in front of the chairs. I was blown away from the amount of information Dr. Sly provided to me. I have never had anyone examine my mouth with this degree of detail. My cleaning was great and left my whole mouth feeling squeaky clean.I did have a few things to address but I look forward to continuing my dental care at with Dr.Sly at Hermann Park Smiles.😁

Very disappointed with this business, found on a website for black owned dentist. My daughter is a college student and I was looking for a dental practice near her university for a routine visit exam. Called the office to verify that our dental insurance was accepted and she was scheduled for an exam after our insurance was verified. At her visit she was advised that her copay for a routine exam would be $175. After calling the receptionist I was advised that because she was not an established patient she needed a few x-rays and a gum exam not covered by the insurance. After asking why? They explained because her previous dentist was a pediatric dentist but the same x-rays they needed were takien a year ago and couldn't be covered by insurance for another three years. Why not send for the xrays? They had all the information of the dentist prior to the appointment on the forms that were completed. As an adult I have seen several dentist and never experienced anything like this. This information was not explained to me while making the appointment and I refused to pay $175 and choose to pay the $50 cancelation fee. Thanks for wasting our time and money.

Dr. Sly and Alex, the dental hygienist were very helpful during my first appointment. They answered all of my questions about my treatment plan and acknowledged my concerns. I look forward to working with them in the future. Keisha, the receptionist made me feel like an inconvenience the entire time I was there. When going over my treatment plan, she had an attitude at every question I asked. She initially told me $173, then the price jumped to $290. When I asked why , she proceeds to say “We close at 5, I just need you to sign off.” Afterwards, when the dental hygienist came back in the room, I told him I could come back another day and get the cleaning if it is past his working hours . Keisha overheard, came back in the room with the card reader before I even started getting treated and said ,” I can’t. I need to go , so I’m going to go ahead and close her out. I can’t do this.” Alex apologized for her behavior afterwards and took his time on my cleaning, educating me on everything he was doing. Dr.Sly also came in afterwards and took her time with following up behind the cleaning. She explained what I needed to do for my dental health afterwards and reiterated the treatment plan to me. She didn’t rush me, answered all of my questions, and made sure that I fully understood everything before leaving .

This is my 2nd time going to HPS and they have a forever client. From the front desk to Sharel the customer service, how they explain everything and why they are recommending it, to all of the little touches they do such as warm blankets and chapstick to make sure you’re comfortable during your service. They have thought of it all and execute it all so well. I had such a great experience getting a filling today and a cleaning and I will for sure be back!

Tried to sell me on doing fillers on FAKE cavities. I felt like something was suspicious so I went to my original dentist back in Austin and they told me i have ZERO cavities and a healthy set of teeth. DO NOT GO HERE AND DO NOT LET THEM PRESSURE YOU INTO DOING FILLERS THE SAME APPOINTMENT.

Absolutely do not recommend. Customer service was fine, but their billing process is suspicious. I scheduled a routine exam and dental cleaning. Which has always been covered completely by my insurance.. I get there and they tell me (before I’ve seen anyone) that I’m being charged $80. When I asked what for, the front desk couldn’t give me a direct answer and told me to speak with the dentist. We are reviewing the scans and she makes the comment about having AI identify potential issues. Cool, not much to see there. THEN she proceeds to say, “I also go behind and look because it doesn’t catch everything”….. ooookay. Result: She told me I needed SEVEN fillings. I was just at the dentist 6months prior. I’m not new to visits. I kindly declined, paid my $80 and left. I did not schedule a follow up or anything. Oh, after looking at the bill, the charge was for the fluoride….. used to clean my teeth….. that’s included…. in the dental cleaning…………. And no, I did not request or consent to anything extra. Fast forward to ONE year later, I just received an email that I have an outstanding balance of $75. There has been no other communication about a balance, unpaid insurance, etc. Again, not complaining about the customer service- they were nice. But I will not be returning.

**Beware of this office** I recently had a working interview and was offered a position. I kindly declined the offer and Dr. Sly refused to compensate me for work already completed. After reading the other reviews I wish I never even applied there. So beware if you apply for a job there you won't get paid & she'll just block you from contacting her.
