I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Sly, and I can confidently say she is an outstanding dentist who genuinely cares about her patients' lifelong dental health.
Great place, Alex, Keshia, Erik, and the leader of the bunch Dr. Sly were next level fantastic. Would recommend 1000 times, thanks!
Dr. Sly and her staff are amazing. Dr. Sly is efficient and thorough. She is always patient with me and made sure I was COMPLETELY numb. I was so nervous but there was no pain. Her assistant Neshia is the best. And her office manager Alex is great. She was able to get me in earlier, which I really appreciate. Erick took his time when explaining the billing. I would definitely RECOMMEND Dr. Sly.
Always love my experience here. Dr. Sly, Alex, & everyone is amazing. 10/10
This office doesn’t send pre determination to see if your insurance can cover. They rather force you to pay out of pocket before they start the treatment you came in pain for. Instead of asking a patient last time they got X-rays they take more shooting you with unneeded exposure to radiation when you could have had previous office send updated x rays from March. Last but not least my sister was a new patient so if this was the experience can only imagine how many people have gone through this and not aware it’s wrong. I know this because my sister came to the office and hippa was broken as the doctor asked me if I saw the condition of my sister teeth insinuating they are in bad shape. Violating patient privacy. I work as a dental office manger and will be escalating this matter to the right people just would like to help prevent anyone from going through what my sister had to endure today.
Our entire family are patients of Dr. Sly. She works so well with our toddlers (ages 2 and 4). She’s extremely thorough and very patient
Everyone was very nice, enjoyed it more than some offices, Paula was very helpful in giving me help with financial options
I lovvvve Dr. Sly. Have been coming for years and haven’t been disappointed. The office is super clean and everyone is super knowledgeable. I had some discrepancies with my account this last visit and Eric and Paula came in with a cape saving the day before I even noticed the problem. Thank you all so much for your continued service 👏🏾
I was very excited to come to a black-owned dentist's office. It's sad to say this was not the best experience. First, the dental staff informed me that new clients must have a CT scan, which costs 150.00 dollars. However, insurance companies do not cover this expense. My family member, who works at a dentist's office, stated a CT scan is unnecessary and ridiculous. However, the cost of the machine has to be paid for by someone, so it's passed to the consumer. Dental cone beam CT scans expose you to more radiation than a traditional dental X-ray. Most insurance companies cover one dental X-ray per year. Before the cleaning started, I confirmed I needed a basic dental cleaning. After the completion of the cleaning, I needed a dental rinse ($25.00), and the cleaning was apparently a "deep cleaning" costing an additional ($80.00). However, the extra cost and the "deep cleaning" was only communicated at checkout. Another cost that's not covered by insurance. These additional treatments and costs should be communicated to customers by the staff before treatment. I was blindsided and it is unprofessional. Lastly, the Dentist could have given a prescription with refills for the dental rinse, which insurance covers. Due to not being upfront with pricing, unnecessary exposure to increased radiation with additional cost, and not providing a prescription for decreased cost, I don't recommend and will not return.
Dr Sly should no way in shape form or fashion be considered a “Dr”. Her beside manner is HORRIBLE. The way she talks to patients and her employees explains the consistent turnover within the office. I wanted to support a black dentist but there are plenty of others in the city who I’m sure will be more respectful. Just looking at her responses to any negative review should tell you all you need to know. She is rude, unfriendly and over charges for every service. If you are looking for a black dentist in the Houston area, do NOT come to Hermann Park Smiles. 0/10, do not recommend
